Introductory Remarks
Dear Zesters,
In Wednesday’s post, Status Report: 0738;090424;LUKE;N;DEASY, I talked about some random stuff, including being busy (with great friends), getting facials, and being vulnerable. There’s a point at the beginning of the facials section where I say, like, ‘continuing on the topic of face-related things’ which is in reference to a section that I was going to write but that I ended up not writing—so that’s just like a kind of embarrassing relic of an edit I made and a section I removed. But just goes to show you that we truly are just making this shit up as we go (as if there was ever any doubt!).
Tbh I’ve never listened to the Eric Clapton song
In the interest of advancing and discussing graphs that I find fascinating, I came across this graph sometime in the past week and thought it was worth sharing. Basically, the tl;dr is that cocaine prices have remained semi-shockingly resilient despite increasing purity—which seems to indicate non-adherence to like commonly-held economic principles. I don’t know what could be driving this type of economic behavior—although it’s quite possible that the substance’s illegality could have something to do with it—but it’s also just funny to think about, if you take a step back. Also I would say that the increasing purity of cocaine is a good demonstration of economies of scale, wherein typically the improved performance would result in stronger profitability and expanding margins, as opposed to, just, I guess, status quo? I don’t know enough about the manufacture of cocaine to speculate any further. But, just thought this graph was fun!
Concluding Remarks
Have a wonderful weekend! Enjoy the last few weeks of warm weather while we still have it! You’re beautiful and awesome and deserving of love! Especially from yourself!
With infinite zest for life,
