Introductory Remarks
Dear Zesters,
In Wednesday’s post, Revisiting #1, we looked at the first thing I ever posted on this here blog—and then kind of just thought about what I said, and how far I’ve come—and I was actually semi-impressed with what I had written at the time. Definitely pretty dramatic and a little ridiculous, but also mostly fair. And I’m also realizing that I think that was a pretty dramatic time in my life, and I think justifiably so, so, ya, not gonna apologize. Moving on!
Luck O’ The Irish
Here’s an awful graph:
Just downright terrible. And I’m pretty sure it was published in a LEGITIMATE IRISH NEWSPAPER. Always keep ye eyes peeled folks, you never know pretty intense visualization errors will enter your field of view—and ye certainly should hope that you’re equipped with enough common sense to realize the error of the illustrator. We’re all just making shit up as we go!
Concluding Remarks
Kind of light on analysis, yes, I agree, and I know—but, I also don’t care. I just thought that was graph was funny. There are so many misrepresented statistics out in the wild. I really do promise soon I’m gonna do an emotional time series of my corpus of the blog. Just have to figure out how to export the corpus. But I’ve already said that. Now I must just do.
Have a beautiful amazing wonderful Labor Day weekend! I’ll catch you Wednesday!
With infinite zest for life,
Luke
